Shopping Small - More Important Than You Think

You Can’t Complain About the Economy & Still Shop on Shein & Temu
I know times are tough. I feel it too. Groceries are expensive, bills keep piling up, and every dollar counts. But if we’re all feeling the strain, we have to start being honest about where our money is going.
I’m not here to shame anyone, I get needing a good deal. But do you really need a massive Shein haul every month? Those $200 Temu orders might feel like a steal, but they come at a cost, just not one you see upfront. These companies exploit workers, rip off independent designers, and flood the market with low-quality products that fall apart after a couple of wears. They don’t invest in our economy, they drain it. Meanwhile, small businesses like mine are out here doing everything we can to offer quality, unique pieces while actually paying fair wages and supporting our communities.
Shopping small isn’t always the cheapest option, and I know that. But every time you choose to support a local business instead of fast fashion giants, you’re making a real impact. You’re keeping jobs here. You’re helping families. You’re making sure that independent boutiques and creators can exist in a world that’s being taken over by mass production and unethical practices.
So this isn’t me telling you to never buy a budget-friendly piece again. Just a reminder that where you spend your money matters. And if we want to see our economy thrive, we have to start investing in businesses that actually give back to us. ❤️
